For this
project, I wore this shirt everyday for 6 weeks in order to investigate
the emotional connections we develop with clothing. The hessian shirt
from
a Victorian blouse pattern slowly disintegrated over time, changing
from a stiff
formal fabric to a soft weave of golden hair. While the shirt faded
away, becoming
less and less wearable, not only did I become more attached to it but
everyone around me became increasingly connected to its development.
You can see the full range of change here.
