Trash to wallpapers

RECYCLING ARTIST IN RESIDENCE

This collection of prints came about through our residency at a recycling center, and it's inspired by the lives we found sifting through the things people throw away. The items we found were often recognizably from one person, and represented strange and sometimes deeply personal artifacts of a life.

The objects we selected were by no means meant to communicate who that particular person was, but rather to give us a glimpse into who each of us might be based on the things we leave behind.

By drawing the discarded bits of everyday life our intention was to bring them back into the home and to reconsider what should be kept or lost and how the objects we select for our houses makes them home.

Designed to reflect early wallpapers, called domino papers, these are repeatable wallpaper tiles as well as stand alone prints. The 8 designs are hand-painted and printed and the patterns are carefully engineered to stand individually as fine art prints. They debuted at Architectural Digest Design Show in New York in 2018.
