Oh this one's a special one from my Aunt Bev. She sends me some great ones every now and again. See, I have two sisters and obviously this reminded her of us. Obviously!
Well summer is definitely over, but I somehow missed posting this one in the appropriate season! It has a bit of an autumnal look, no? One of our favorite beach vacations with the girls was here (although not quite that long ago!).
Since we're headed off to Paris this week (with an airplane transfer in London!), I thought I would share the postcard from our old local pub from when we lived in London. We called it the Che Bar, but it was really called El Commandante, it was the BEST.
Remember when they had racks of free postcards in every bar and most restaurants in New York? Did they have them in other cities too? I kind of think so....I have a fair amount of these in my collection, but only the best ones....they started to really go down hill, and now there just seem to be half empty racks full of trash when you do find one. Too bad!
Well, I'm no longer posting a playing card every week, and I never quite kept up with #the100dayproject (good start though!), so I thought I'd try a new series on the blog every Friday. I have been collecting postcards since my teens, on travels, locally, sent by friends and family who know my tastes, and I keep them all in boxes in my studio. I would love to share them with you so I'm going to post my favorites regularly throughout the summer and into the fall....I have enough to keep me going for years I imagine, but let's see how it goes, okay? Here's one of my all times favorites from a trip to Italy, probably in the late 90s?
The back says, "Simpaty Cards, Grafiche Milan Cards" with a phone number....I'm willing to share if you'll call and let me know what they say!! See a new one next Friday!
