Remember when they had racks of free postcards in every bar and most restaurants in New York? Did they have them in other cities too? I kind of think so....I have a fair amount of these in my collection, but only the best ones....they started to really go down hill, and now there just seem to be half empty racks full of trash when you do find one. Too bad!
I bought this one on a camping trip across Scandinavia many years ago, and I don't think I had any idea what the "polka" was until much more recently!
I really don't remember when I bought this one, but I'm guessing I was a teenager? It says: M.C. Escher Book of 30 Postcards–Magna Books....I don't think I even knew who M.C. Escher was when I bought these! See more of his work here!
Interactive Wallpaper — When I was in graduate school at CSM one of my tutors was the immensely talented Rachel Kelly. This is one of her postcards from her work at the time, she has such a lovely hand! I've always loved this piece....you can see some of her current work at the link above or check out her blog at Interactive Wallpaper too.
One of our favorite places to take the girls when we visit Colorado is Tiny Town. It's exactly that: a tiny replica of an old times town. There is a little train you can ride, too. The back of the post cards reads as above and you can see more at Tiny Town Railroad
This beauty is sent from one of my most talented London friends...she always sends the BEST cards. Polona is a curator and all around amazing talent, and you will certainly see lots more of the goodness she sends over the coming Fridays.
